Cotton hand block printing is a highly work-intensive Indian heritage craft. Individual patterns are skilfully carved into wooden blocks which are then used to apply natural dyes or paint precisely to the surface. Layers of detail, colour and texture develop into a distinctive textile achieved by intense personal attention.
